Tetra Tech Coffey are delivering a wide range of geotechnical site services for three solar farms on the North Island New Zealand as part of the Solar Gen JV expanded activities for the construction of the largest solar farm in New Zealand.
Future Renewable Vision Australia and its joint venture partner, Genesis Energy (Solar Gen JV), have secured lands for three new North Island sites for solar farms with a combined capacity of 400mw of renewable electricity capacity.
The three sites cover 740ha, with the first of these solar farms expected to be generating electricity by 2026.
The Tetra Tech Coffey team will provide the following services:
- Geotechnical investigations
- Geohazard assessments
- Detailed liquefaction analyses
- Pile capacity analysis
- Pile testing.
The joint venture’s target development of 500 MW of solar capacity is expected to generate about 750 GWh pa – enough to power 100,000 households or 185,000 EVs per year.
