Elmar Kaltenbach Appointed Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Practice Leader
Tetra Tech Coffey is pleased to announce the appointment of Elmar Kaltenbach as Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Geotechnical Practice Leader for Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia.
Elmar brings more than 25 years of experience across Australia and Europe, with a strong background in both geotechnical engineering and construction supervision. Over the past eight years, he has focused on leadership roles, including regional management, and has built a reputation for developing high-performing, cohesive teams with a strong culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
Elmar’s core strengths lie in client engagement, business development, and risk management. He is known for his ability to build lasting relationships with clients—many of whom have chosen to continue working with him throughout his career transitions. His commercial insight, including financial and variation management, along with a strong understanding of market dynamics, enables him to deliver strategic value and practical outcomes for clients and project teams alike.
In addition to his technical and commercial capabilities, Elmar plays an important role in connecting disciplines across the broader Tetra Tech network—collaborating with teams in contamination, environmental management, and geospatial services.
